Product Details
Rather well known under the common name ‘String of Turtles’, this semi-epiphytic South American vine does indeed boast leaves that look quite like turtle shells, tiny ones, on a string. Though Peperomia prostrata is usually only found in environments of very high humidity; it can actually be grown as a houseplant without any effort at all-the leaves can take on a more ‘succulent’ form, a sort of translucent ‘dome’ over the actual photosynthetic leaf surface that both conserves water and aids in energy-efficient photosynthesis. This versatile plant does, also, work incredibly well in a terrarium, though. When propagating, it’s important to make sure the propagation’s stem has to be touching the media in order for roots to form.
