While not actually in the Monstera genus, the "Mini Monstera" Rhaphodophora tetrasperma looks like a miniature version of the popular M. deliciosa. It is a vining plant that will travel around a room or can be trained on a trellis, and makes a beautiful addition to a terrarium. It grows slower than other vining plants, which makes it very convenient for enclosed tanks and prevents it from becoming overwhelming. It produced fenestrated leaves from budding, and stays much smaller than the larger M. deliciousa. The mini monstara is native to Southern Tailand and Malasia, enjoys high humidity and bright indoor lighting. This is considered a poisonous plant, and should be kept away from pets that may be interested in taste testing it.
