Pothos, 'Baltic Blue' (Epipremnum pinnatum)
Epipremnum pinnatum has long been a prized houseplant; a large, vining aroid that produces giant, fenestrated leaves at maturity akin to full-sized palm fronds, it has always been a hallmark of a distinguished collection. However, the size and support equipment required for a specimen of E. pinnatum to reach maturity are very much out of reach for the average home collector; which is why the mutation known as ‘Baltic Blue’ became such a huge and popular success. A variety of the already beloved Epipremnum pinnatum that produces fenestrations at a small size, it’s the best of both worlds, and a cherished houseplant, especially for those working with limited space. To keep a ‘Baltic Blue’ happy, all that’s needed is a damp pot of pre-mixed houseplant soil, and a light level of at least moderate shade. Beautiful blue-leaved vines will grow with relative speed and maintain beautiful fenestrations that cast shadows on walls like stained glass.
