This locale of P. incanus has a speckled base to the body and is framed in a white skirt, and is likely a different species entirely. Adults have a base color of varying greys, but can develop a calico pattern with red or yellow highlights. It produces at a slower rate than the "classic" variation of this locale of isopod and reaches larger sizes.
