Product Details
Philodendron ‘Paraiso Verde’ was somewhat of a point of contention amongst houseplant enthusiasts a few years ago; as its variegation is not chimeric, which most variegated forms (say, monstera albo borsigiana) are, but rather externally-dependant; the plant only produces its signature, beautiful leopard-skin mottling when it’s in the right conditions. For a while, it was a very heated debate; with a swath of possible conditions being tested; but the final consensus reached by the general community was that the variegation of ‘Paraiso Verde’ is dependant directly on heat and light. So, in order to grow this incredible wonder to its full potential; it must be exposed to ample heat and high light. In terms of soil, a chunky aroid blend, usually available from hobbyist-owned businesses, is the best option; as this semi-epiphyte hybrid prefers a much more aerated, epiphytic aroid-specific soil than most others.
