Product Details
A sister species to Pellionia pulchra, repens seeks to serve the same role as a forest’s carpet, a dense network of interwoven roots that contribute greatly to the oxygen output of Asia’s forests, where both are native. Repens boasts a much more visible pattern; a large, shiny silver streak down the mid-vein of the leaf with gentle silver speckling around the sides. Repens makes much better for a household plant than pulchra, as it gets larger, roots more vigorously, and is just generally more tolerant to lower humidity. For soil; a sphagnum-based mix is best, both to keep the plants’ rampant growth rates at bay, and to wick and maintain moisture around the very drought-sensitive stems and roots.
