Fittonia albivenis, commonly known as the nerve plant, was discovered and named in the 19th century by Wilhelm Fitton. Fittonia is native to the rainforests of South America, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, northern Brazil, and Peru. It's very popular due to its low maintaince and striking visual appearance of green leaves and white veins. A ground creeper, this plant thrives in low light and high humidity conditions. It also has a bushy growth habit, making it a great addition to hanging baskets.
