An undescribed species from Peru, this deeply corrugated Monstera has been in cultivation for a few decades now. It’s related to species such as pinnatipartita and dissecta, though ‘Peru’ doesn’t fenestrate, even at maturity. Leaves feel of thick cardboard, recessed around the veins with the rest of the glossy, shiny leaf surface covered in luxuriously glassy ridges. Luckily for those who don’t have conditions for terrarium plants; Monstera ‘Peru’ is more than suited to be grown as a regular houseplant, whether trained up a moss pole or grown in a hanging basket to add a strong pop of both color and texture to any collection.
