The Trailing Jade is a native variety to the highlands of Tanzania and Kenya. In its native habitat it creeps along as a thick succulent ground cover. These succulents are a beautiful green and as they grow tall, they start to cascade which is the perfect plant to become a hanging basket. They have spoon shaped leaves and if you want to give them a pop of color you can give them a little sun stress as they are drought tolerant. Trailing Jade’s should not be over watered as they are very prone to root rot, so you will want to add it to a well-draining and gritty soil (sand, perlite, pumice, or lava rocks). Do not water this plant until the soil has completely dried out.
