Hoya callistophylla
Hoya callistophylla hails from Malasian. "Callisto" means "nymph" or "beautiful" in latin, while "phylla" refers to "leaf", so the name literally means "beautiful leaf". H. callistophylla has some of the largest leaves I've seen on Hoya, typically reaching a size of 10in in length and 4in in diameter. They have irregular margins, and a quite thick. Callistophylla will also take on beautiful red and orange hues to the leaves when sun stressed and it is quite a display. The star shaped flowers are also unique; they have an outer coloration of a maroon-red that fade in an ombre display to a yellow, and the inner corona is white. This Hoya can survive low light conditions, but for bet results we encourage brighter light (and then the red sunstressed can be encouraged!). The soil should be allowed to dry between waterings. It can be encouraged to grow upward on supports, or like other hoya trail out of a hanging pot.
