Product Details
Hoya australis stands out from the rest of the genus for a couple of key reasons. Firstly, the unstoppable vine has established itself in Australia, a place otherwise practically devoid of Hoya species. Also, the large, spade-shaped leaves harden to a glossy, navy blue finish, something rather unusual for a Hoya. This species is, in truth, the easiest member of the genus Hoya. Not only is growth paced for an Olympic sprint, but cuttings root with a near 100% success rate, and produce new growths in the span of mere weeks. This species is perfectly suited for a trellis, as the thick-stemmed vines seek space to ramble and climb, rather than sprawl and hang. White, star-shaped flowers stand out quite noticeably from the majority of Hoyas, and their size, too, dwarfs that of the average Hoya flower. With all that in mind, Hoya australis is the perfect houseplant, and it’s more than ready to take off.
