Product Details
Though, sadly, the exact origins of ‘Rebecca’ have been lost to time; what IS known is that this incredible hybrid of Hoya lacunosa ‘Langkawi Island’ and obscura originated somewhere in Thailand, produced as a careful selection of the best traits of both parents to hopefully create a Hoya that anyone could love. And, though this mysterious grower isn’t known by name, their creation lives on as a legendary cross. ‘Rebecca’ sun-stresses to a stunning maroon color, with prominent veins tinged lime green that stand out dramatically against the thick, fleshy leaves. Flowers look more like daisies than Hoya; a pre-made bouquet of half-inch wide pink and yellow blossoms that release a delightful perfume when in full bloom. Care is quite standard for Hoyas; well-draining soil, higher light (especially if the intent is to produce a sun-stress color), and semi-frequent fertilization; Hoya are heavy feeders! All in all, though, ‘Rebecca’ is a truly unique plant that gives a tremendous display of color while still maintaining such a small stature.
