Product Details
Hailing from the harsh, unforgiving deserts of Africa, Haworthia is a genus of rough and tumble succulents meant to survive even the most neglectful conditions, whether they be encountered at the hands of a gardener or the turgid African winds. Much like their larger relatives in the genus Aloe; Haworthia are practically indestructible; provided they’re potted in gritty, well-draining succulent soil and blasted with intense light. The parents of a well-maintained Haworthia will, once a year, produce a series of dainty, diminutive flower stalks sporting tubular white blossoms that give the plant’s already alien appearance a new level of curiosity. Plus, Haworthia cooperi specifically is a dwarf species; one that doesn’t really reach a size in upwards of 4-5 inches per rosette, though a mature specimen will usually consist of a cluster of 2 or 3 of such heads. Leaves are tipped in a ‘windowpane’ structure meant to conserve moisture loss and give the diminutive succulents an edge up over their competition in such a well-filled niche.
