The original species that revealed all the treasures that the limestone caves Thailand has to offer the isopod hobby! "Rubber ducky" started a huge sensation leading to the discovery of dozens of undescribed species. They do well in a setup with at least 3" of substrate and a substatial calcium source (limestone, cuttlebone, eggshells will do fine). Treat them like very expensive vegetable plants- offer nutritious substrate, additions such as shrimp meal, bat guano, and rotten wood. They also benefit from occasionally offering vegetable slices. As a cave species, they should have good air flow, so substantial ventilation is a must and a dead space for air to move of about 2". They need hides to crawl up off the ground, and utilize cardboard egg crates and bark whenever offered.
