Product Details
Begonia "Ginny Galaxy" is a variegated form of the cultivar Begonia "Ginny", a hybrid Begonia created in 1971 by Wally Watchorn in Oceanside, CA. It is a cross between Begonia echinosepala and Begonia "Margaritae" (A hybrid between B. echinosepala x B. aconitifolia ). He named the cultivar after his wife. It has a shrub like growth pattern, green leaves with red veins, and pink or red flowers. This is a typical angel wing type Begonia with long, tapering leaves. The "Ginny galaxy" has varigation throughout; producing splashes of cream or white in the leaves, stems, and even affecting the pigmentation of the flowers. This Begonia appreciates bright, indirect light and high humidity- thriving in terrariums, but is stable in a room with a regular watering schedule. While it appreciates moisture, caution must be taken it does not get too moist so as not to rot.
