Armadillidium vulgare, also called the "common roly poly", is native to the UK but has since been distributed throughout the world. They're found in nearly any climate, desert, cool, humid, and are very successful in adapting to their environment. Vulgare are not as aggressive protein eaters of other species but will readily consume soft bodied plants. Vulgare are naturally found in a variety of colors; the most common being a base of grey. Some may display 3 rows of splotches of varying sizes and intensity; this splotches may be yellow, white, or orange.
