Armadillidium werneri "Greater clown isopod"
A. werneri is an isopod that strongly resembles A. klugii visually and is differentiated by a few key features. Werneri has 5 rows of spots while klugii has only 3; in werneri these spots are exclusively white and never yellow. This species also gets noticeably larger in comparison to klugii. It is commonly known as the "Greater clown isopod"
A. werneri is native to Greece and somewhat tolerant to humidity, but should be offered a dry area in their enclosure. They are quite a docile, laid back species and readily will unroll and meander about a hand after being picked up.
Werneri do well in temperate and semi-arid environments. They are not recommended for tropical due to issues molting in high humidity. They enjoy eating many soft bodied plants.
